Why EchoTrust exists

If you drive rideshare, pour drinks, wait tables, cut hair, train clients, or deliver groceries, your reputation is your business — but it currently lives in someone else's database. Five stars on a platform disappear the moment you're deactivated, switch apps, or go independent. The customers who loved you have no way to find you again.

EchoTrust gives service and gig workers something the platforms never will: a professional reputation that belongs to you. Your profile, your ratings, your reviews, your regulars — portable, public, and impossible to take away. Let people know when and roughly where you're working, on your terms. Stay reachable to the customers you trust, and invisible to everyone else.

And because a worker's schedule and location are the most dangerous data in the system, safety is the first feature we built, not an afterthought: presence is coarse by default, consent-gated, and vanishes when your shift ends.

What is the AT Protocol?

The AT Protocol (“atproto”) is an open network standard for social applications — the same technology that powers Bluesky. On a traditional social network, your account is a row in one company's database — leave the app, and you leave everything behind. The AT Protocol flips that: your identity and your data belong to you, and apps simply borrow them. Think of it like keeping your phone number when you switch carriers — your handle, your followers, and your history move with you between apps, and no company can ever lock you out of your own account.

Why EchoTrust is built on it

For a worker, “reputation you can't lose” is the whole point — and that's exactly what the AT Protocol delivers. Your profile, ratings, and reviews live in your account, not our database, so even if EchoTrust disappeared tomorrow, your professional history would survive. It's like a credit score that follows you between banks: earned once, recognized everywhere, and impossible for any one company — including us — to take away. The one thing we don't put on the open network is where you are right now: that stays on our private servers, visible only to followers you approve, and deleted the moment your shift ends.
